OBJECTIVES:
Provide Assistance to the local organizing team for tutor management activities.

1. Feedback on Tutor Pack before release

• critical info -> reduces clarification questions
  
• remove unnecessary content
  
• proposal: youtube videos of workspaces to gain more knowledge about the spaces where the projects are going to be located
  

2. Site visits in advance (if possible) to understand the challenges and restrictions of the workspace setup 3. Evaluate Project Pitches

• Provide opinions on tutor competence + feasibility of the projects, flag potential issues
  
• See previous criteria document of Matthias (see bottom of this page!)
  
• Tutor competence is key. Third parties won't have the relevant experience.

4. Assist in Project Development

• Review order list
• Most likely remote activity (skype/email)
• Team building, facilitation
• KanBan Diary
• Permissions confirmation
• Safety analysis + statements
• Confirm first aid

5. Workshop Assistance

• Tool school intermittently
• Tool masters
• Tutor Camp
• Design Advice
• Detailing Construction
• Interpersonal conflict resolution
• Toolshed management strategy
• Tool + material buying and delivery
• Backup tutors (in case of tutor failure)
  

STRATEGIC EVALUATION PROCESS OF MEDS WORKSHOP PROPOSALS

Main evaluation criteria of a workshop proposal:
quality of outcome
teaching of skills = learning opportunities for participants
possibility for the participants to actively (influence the) design
aspect of fun during the workshop
does the workshop align with the overall theme or a proposed site for an intervention?
cost of the project
realistic timeline (is the work going to be finished by 10-15 participants in 10 days of work?)

Assessment of the future tutors:
has the person been to any MEDS before?
how senior is the person? (still student / graduated / young professional / professional)
quality of CV and portfolio
does the person have teaching / workshop experience?
does the tutor speak english on an acceptable level?
are they involved in the development of MEDSnetwork or future MEDSworkshops?

Overall we’re aiming for a good mix of:
gender
nationalities
professions (architecture, design etc.)
age
workshop categories
proposed sites of intervention
new faces and MEDSalumni

For tutors whose proposal isn’t being chosen:
- automatic offer to be a participant
- try to pair small tutor teams as co-tutors (not more than 3 persons per team also no single tutors)
